„Every Weakness hides a Talent“ is Dr. Karin Wettig's slogan and her personal experience after the loss of her speaking voice with her divorce. With a broken voice instead of a broken heart, she would not give up looking for answers to her biggest dreams, even if she gave up not only on her husband, her home, her friends, her career and her Colour & Style Studio.

Once settled in Munich, the adventure journey from her lost speaking voice to her coloratura soprano began. Voice therapy didn't make a difference, doctors couldn't find reasons, then she decided to start singing. Mozart arias & the love for Maria Callas & the passion for Belcanto never left her again. Voice trainers, vocal coaches, Belcanto teachers and Opera schools were as disillusioning as rivalries in famous church choirs, so she followed her intuition on a lonely path. Watching Maria Callas and listening to some great divas of Caruso's times, her musical sensitivity dove deeply into the physical aspects of opera singing, while her musicological nerver inspired her to study the theory behind the Belcanto practice since the birth of Opera with  Monteverdi's compositions shortly after 1600 and the castrato singers of the Papal singing school.

On the way to her authentic voice, nights in dark and spooky churches followed with secret training of Belcanto repertoire from Farinelli to Bellini, Rossini, Mozart, Puccini and Verdi. At the same time her intense body training with Alexander technique, Rolfing, Cantieni Training and Yoga was rewarded finally by a brilliant coloratura soprano. During her first training classes the same questions came up again and again, so she decided to write her German book - Singen wie Callas und Caruso - . When this book became a success together with her first book - Sanger ABC Belcanto - she ended up with a new edition in English with a larger historical and theoretical part. 

"Awareness is the key and awareness was my best teacher during all those years of research and personal training, because awareness can change in some minutes what decades of voice exercises cannot do!"  As we learn in 2012 from the insights of matrix energetics, it doesn't take effort to change one's abilities and one's personality; it can truly be a lot of pleasure and laughter. „Jede Schwäche birgt in sich ein Talent!“ ist das Lebensmotto, das die gebürtige Kölnerin & begeisterte Wahlmünchnerin, Dr. Karin Wettig, seit langem begleitet. Mit der Scheidung ging ihre Stimme zu Bruch. Daraufhin ließ sie die Vergangenheit hinter sich:  langjährige Ehe, Freunde, Studienkollegen, das Studio für Farb-& Stilberatung &  ihr geliebtes Zuhause.

In Süddeutschland begann eine abenteuerliche  Suche nach der verlorenen Stimme. Logpädie half nicht, da beschloss sie zu singen. Was mit Mozartarien harmlos begann, wurde eine lange Odyssee zur authentischen Opernstimme.Von der Leidenschaft gepackt, wollte sie dem Geheimnis von Callas & Caruso auf die Spur kommen. Der Körper als Instrument faszinierte sie: Unterricht bei Tenören, Körpertherapeuten, NLP-Trainern & Hypnoseprofis ergänzte die Jahre nächtlicher Stimmpraxis als heimliche Nachtigall in spärlich beleuchteten Kirchen, wo sie mit lauter Stimme ihr Herzklopfen übertönte, wenn im Halbdunkel ab und zu ein Gerippe wie Spuk vorbeizuhuschen schien.
Endlich war es soweit: aus der tonlosen Stimme entpuppte sich ein farbiger Koloratursopran. Das erste Konzert folgte 2009 mit Arien von Mozart, Bellini & Verdi, begleitet von ihrem jungen, selbst ausgebildeten Pianisten, Imre Vadasz.Als Stimmcoach & Personality Stylist begleitet sie Menschen auf dem Weg zu authentischer Selbstdarstellung, wenn sie nicht gerade singt, tanzt oder ein neues Buch schreibt. Die Idee zu "Singen wie Callas & Caruso" kam von Teilnehmern der Groupon Stimmkurse München, die sich ein Skript für den Kurs wünschten. Die erweiterte englische Ausgabe ist in Vorbereitung.
